About Us

Transitioning out of the military may be an exciting time, but it can also be a stressful time.  According to Korn Ferry, research has shown that 43% of veterans leave their first civilian job within their first year, and 80% leave before the end of the second, citing a lack of opportunity for career advancement and personal development.  One great alternative to “getting a job” is owning your own company.  But what does that look like?  How do you get there?  In the military, if we wanted to go from point A to point B, we had tools (map, compass, waypoints).  If we wanted to advance to a certain rank or position, we had a monitor or senior enlisted advisor who helped us make the right career steps.

What we aim to do at R&H Services Group is replace those tools and mentoring platforms in a way that helps you navigate and succeed in this next step.  We believe strongly in the benefits of serving and leading in the military and will be able to walk you through a successful transition.

Two Most Common Options

Franchises can be a great way to transition into entrepreneurship.  One of our leaders, Chris Cynkar, is both the Franchise & Entrepreneurship professor for Carnegie Mellon’s elite MBA program, he has also spent several years as a Franchise Consultant and Coach.  This gives us a unique capability to serve as your franchise investment partner.  Additionally, you not only get the R&H leadership team helping you, but you also get the franchisor whose sole purpose is to make sure you are successful in your location.

Franchises also provide great opportunities for hardworking and dedicated owners to grow rapidly and expand into new territories, ultimately building out a group of locations.

Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (SMB) are just that: small businesses that already exist.  With our experience in mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and the contacts and relationships we’ve developed over the years, we have an approach for acquiring businesses that aligns well with transitioning veterans.  This provides both our own experience and mentorship as well as a generous transition period with the previous owner to make sure you have a postive hand-off.  Remember those 30-second watch turnovers when you were told “it’s all good!” as the offgoing watch ran off to sleep?!  It’s not that.  We put together one of the best career transitioning training and onboarding process you’ve seen to ensure you aren’t simply thrown into the fire.  Small businesses have a lot to offer instead of franchises, but they also have plenty of drawbacks.  Those are things we will discuss when you reach out.
